THE NOMAD publishes fiction, nonfiction, essays, memoir, literary book reviews, and poetry on an annual theme-- online twice a year at the-nomad.org, and annually in a printed volume.  

We seek writing that is a pleasure to read.  THE NOMAD does not publish work created with AI.

The theme for 2026 is "MUSIC," interpreted broadly.  In general, we are more likely to publish pieces shorter than 3,500 words.
